1. INTRODUCTION

The website uses cookies to ensure the proper functioning of our site. The law states that we can store cookies on your device if they are strictly necessary for the functioning of the site. For all other types of cookies, we need your consent. Cookies are used to make the site work more efficiently, to improve its performance, and also to provide information to us as site owners. We recommend consenting to our cookies to make your browsing experience more efficient.

In this policy, we will refer to cookies and all similar technologies using the term "cookies."

2. TYPES OF COOKIES

Based on the characteristics and use of cookies, we can distinguish different categories:

  • Technical cookies (strictly necessary cookies). These are essential cookies for the proper functioning of the platform. The duration of these cookies can be strictly limited to the work session (they are deleted when the browser is closed) or for a maximum duration of 30 days and are aimed at recognizing, for this limited period, the visitor's computer - through an alphanumeric code generated at the first access session - to re-propose the result of the test carried out by the user. Without these cookies, the platform could not function properly.
  • Performance and Analytics cookies. These are cookies used to collect and analyse traffic and site usage anonymously. These cookies, although not identifying the user, allow, for example, to detect if the same user returns to connect at different times. They also allow us to monitor the system and improve its performance and usability. Disabling these cookies can be done without any loss of functionality.
  • Profiling cookies. These are permanent cookies used to identify (anonymously) user preferences and improve their browsing experience. If third-party, these cookies can also show relevant content and ads on other sites. For these types of cookies, user consent is required. If you do not accept these cookies, you will not receive personalized content.

3. COOKIES USED ON THE SITE

Technical cookies (strictly necessary) and exempt from consent

  • The site uses a session cookie.
  • Cookie Consent facilitates user navigation by recognising and avoiding that the short cookie information contained in the banner reappears in the case of connections to the site made within the expiration term from the user's device. Deleting this cookie will not save the banner's acknowledgment for accesses made within 31 days following the first connection to the site.

Analytics cookies (theoretically exempt from consent, but we decided that preventive blocking is the most prudent option)

  • Google Analytics uses cookies (_ga, _gid, _gat) to collect and anonymously analyze information about site usage behavior (including the user's IP address). This information is collected by Google Analytics, which processes it to compile reports for us regarding activities on the website itself. Google does not associate the IP address with any other data held by Google nor tries to link an IP address with the identity of a user. The user can selectively disable Google Analytics action by installing the opt-out component provided by Google on their browser.

Even if they are analytics cookies, they can be considered equivalent to technical cookies (and therefore exempt from consent) because they are used solely to produce aggregate statistics and related to a single site; IP addresses (at least the fourth component) are masked and not combined with other processing. However, we decided that preventive blocking is the most prudent option for analytics cookies.

Profiling cookies

  • The site DOES NOT use such profiling cookies, so no consent is needed.

This is mentioned for informational purposes only - References are made to the third-party sites via a direct link, so NO cookies are installed on the user's device.

4. COOKIE DURATION

Some cookies (session cookies) remain active only until the browser is closed or the logout command is executed. Other cookies "survive" the browser closure and are available for subsequent visits by the user. These cookies are called persistent and their duration is set by the server at the time of their creation. In some cases, an expiration date is set; in other cases, the duration is unlimited.

Cookie Provider Type Expiration
session QUOVAI Technical (necessary) At the end of the browsing session
Cookie Consent QUOVAI Technical (necessary) 31 days
_ga Google Analytics 2 years (from the last visit)
_gid Google Analytics 1 day (from the last visit)
_gat Google Analytics 1 minute (from the last visit)

By browsing the pages of the site, you can interact with third-party sites that can create or modify permanent and profiling cookies.

5. COOKIE MANAGEMENT

The user can decide whether to accept or reject cookies using their browser settings. Disabling third-party cookies does not affect navigability in any way.

Notwithstanding the above, the user has the option of using the information on YourOnlineChoices (EU), which is a guide to behavioral advertising and online privacy, and to use this resource in addition to the information provided in this document. The Digital Advertising Alliance also offers an application called AppChoices that helps users control behavioral advertising on mobile applications.
